To strengthen our Onsite Expert Services team, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to act as interface between our customers and ABB with the exciting task of performing worldwide commissioning and troubleshooting of large ABB MV Drives. Reporting to the Head of Expert Services team, you will be part of the ABB Service Supply Unit for MV drives in Turgi, Switzerland. You will be working in close collaboration with production, engineering, management, R&D, quality team, project, and support teams. In your role you will ensure flawless delivery of services at our customer locations worldwide and provide feedback to the back office for continuous improvement of ABB's products and processes.In this role you will gain technical knowledge and customer experiences that will lay a great foundation for career development.

Your responsibilities
- Perform commissioning and troubleshooting in large drive applications up to 60 MW in different industries: e.g. wind, marine propulsion, power plant, oil & gas, water storage, metal applications
- Technical lead of installation and commissioning team at customer sites to ensure a smooth commissioning for modernization projects and new applications
- Close collaboration with the project engineering team during the design phase of modernization projects and new applications
- Provide remote support and guidance to regional service engineers
- Collect firsthand customer experience with our drives and control upgrades and transfer them into improvements to ensure further development of our product portfolio together with Engineer, R&D, Quality Team and Production
- Consult with and advising customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Assume international travelling of approx. 50-70%, duration of each assignment generally up to 4 weeks.
Your background
- Master or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related fields, focus on power electronics is a plus
- Basic knowledge about electrical machines: transformer, drives and motors are a must
- Fluent in English, German language is beneficial, any other language an asset
- Team player with pronounced communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
- High flexibility and willingness to work independently around the globe
- Customer and solution oriented with the ability to approach technical challenges in a structured manner
- Ability to translate customer needs into continuous improvements and drive them until completion
