Working as a Business Line Supply Chain Management (SCM) Lead you will report to the Global Operations Manager of the Business Line (BL) Growth Industries, be part of the Division SCM Management Team, and will be responsible for driving the BL strategy and initiatives globally. At Business Line Growth Industries we are working in emerging industry segments such as: Battery Manufacturing, Data Center Automation, and in Green hydrogen, and Green steel with our High Power Rectifiers business. We are also collaborating with our customers to decarbonize and bring energy efficiencies to the cement and food and beverage industry segments.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategic support: Develop and implement Global BL Procurement strategy including supplier portfolio and initiatives. Provide support and leadership to BL strategic sales pursuits. Define sourcing setup for key and strategic BL projects during the sales phase and execution. Set targets and drive BL-specific programs (including RISE) in relevant countries. Provides inputs and develops together with the management global SCM resource landscape.
  • Excellence: Manage key BL supply base performance and development in cooperation with other BLs, Global Supplier Quality, and Global Category Managers. Analyzes problems to identify best solutions and implements improvements to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Identifies, documents, and communicates best practices by benchmarking, surveys, and case studies to establish frameworks and preferred business practices within the BL. Leads the global integration with the LBLs for "SCM working methods" and ensures training, teaching, and synergies of the SCM key aspects for the GI BL / BU's.Develops and leads supplier quality framework between local units in the BU's.
  • Change management: Fosters change management within BL Growth.
  • Communication: Establishes clear and transparent communication internally, externally, and between different organizations.
  • Business continuity: Together with Division SCM, establishes and enforces processes on business continuity in global and local organizations. Drive and ensure ABB policies of "License to Operate" in the countries and establish good internal audit controls.


Your background

  • A Bachelor's degree in Management, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management including five years in the field of global sourcing for direct materials and services for industrial solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multicultural and international environment with standard operating procedures.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Willing to embrace 'Entrepreneurial Growth Spirit' especially while working in uncharted territories.
  • Additional languages and understanding of Trade Compliance regulation (TC) is an advantage.
