You will lead all certification activities and provide guidance to all departments on the application of standards and regulations related to ABB's Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) systems.In this position, as Certification Specialist, you will report to R&D CoE Lead, based in Quartino Switzerland.

Your responsibilities
 

• Develop and maintain product certification for existing and new products, dealing with renewals and product design updates.
• Develop and maintain all certification documentation, maintaining proper records, certification files, developing and improving these where necessary.
• Work closely with product development team and manage test partners (UL, Intertek, Dekra, Eurofins, etc.) to scope and plan test programs to demonstrate compliance to IEC or UL applicable standards.
• Carry out and monitor practical certification testing.
• Constantly research the regulatory environment and facilitate discussions regarding changes in regulatory requirements.
• Assist sales and field support personnel with customer issues related to non-compliance and conformity assessment.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental compliance database (RoHS, REACH, WEEE).
• Prepare LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments).

Your background
 

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, as well as more than 5 years of relevant Engineering experience.
• Experience working with power electronic systems.
• Knowledge of product Regulations and Standards (including IEC and UL), Life Cycle Assessments and Environmental Sustainability.
• Experience working with certification bodies.
• Experience in the use of various measuring equipment used in a laboratory environment.
• Able to work independently in the testing and certification.
• Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is a plus.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written, Italian is a plus.
