What you achieve
The platform you build integrates Swisscom products and opens the door to new, cutting-edge, and data-driven products. You enable dozens of engineering teams, hundreds of co-workers, and the entire company to gain new insights and create new possibilities for our customers. Working in the big data platform team, you design, implement, and operate our data streaming platform using Kafka and its components Connect, Streams, and KSQL. Your software to automate platform management and frameworks to make our platform accessible via APIs and a self-service console, thus empowering our users. To do so, you work with the latest and greatest big data technologies and their related ecosystems – on the premises and in the cloud. With your expertise, you improve both the reliability and the availability of our 24/7 platform.
Why you succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (Uni/ETH/UAS) in computer science or an equivalent degree
- Hands-on experience in distributed systems
- Strong software development skills in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, or Go
- Additional experience in Docker, Kubernetes, IP Networking, and Linux systems management
- Experience with big data technologies such as Kafka, YARN, HDFS, Spark is a plus
- Team-oriented, initiative personality with a positive attitude and a love for DevOps and Agile methodology
- Very good English, French or German a plus
