Your role and responsibilities
The Testing & Laboratory Specialist executes tests in the laboratory department on different devices using complete knowledge of standard references, testing methodologies, and requested requirements.
Reporting to the Center of Excellence Laboratory Manager, you will analyze and document test results for use in the development of new products. Recognizing problems and providing input on
solutions, by applying defined details, test sequences, testing methods, and procedures, using high accuracy equipment and instrumentation.
• Preparing set up and executing verification and validation measurement tests.
• Preparing, reviewing, and updating measurement documents.
• Performing root cause analysis of failed circuits and components.
• Assisting external certification inspectors during testing activities for ABB products and external customer products.
• Ensuring that prototypes are correctly assembled, tests are correctly performed, and activities are thoroughly reported.
• Ensuring superior quality of laboratory infrastructure and equipment.
• Supporting all assigned R&D engineers for development activities, set up, and instrument measurement preparation.
Qualifications for the role
- A technical degree in electronic or electro technics (Technician degree).
- Minimum few years of experience working as a Laboratory Technician with UPS equipment or equivalent related experience.
- Sound knowledge in electrical testing for power converter platforms is a plus
- Team-oriented and independent way of working.
- A solution-focused mindset and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Fluent command of Italian and good knowledge of English (German is a plus).
